Board Member - Dr. Sharda Sabnis
Sharda Sabnis, graduated from Nair Hospital, Mumbai in 1970. She then did her internship (1971) and residency in Pathology in Maryland and Washington D.C (1972-1975).
Postgraduate training in PGI, Chandigarh.
Since 1976, for 30+ years she has been a nephropathologist at AFIP, signing out approximately 800 to 1000 biopsies per year by light electron microscopy, immunofluorescence, and/or immuno peroxidase techniques. From 1994- 2006, she was the Chief of Nephropathology, at the AFIP. She was also involved in teaching, and animal as well as clinico pathological research. Her academic interests have led her to have appoinments as Professor of Pathology, at Georgetown University, and Visiting Professor, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka, India, and Professor of Pathology, Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital, Nadiad, University of Gujrat, India. She is a consultant Nephropathologist, and has helped initiate the Indian Nephrology Association
She is a regular and much liked member of the AIPNA CMEs in India
